Call handling for the drinks trade

In partnership with Morepour, drinks dispense specialists

Stop sending engineers to faults a phone call could fix.

For the companies that run the trade's service lines. Hello Betony is designed to answer every fault call, work through an engineer's first checks with the caller, and send a van only when one is needed. Fewer wasted visits, and customers pouring again sooner.

A highlight reel of one test call, with one of our team playing a landlord. Holly answers as Morepour Technical Services because she was set up for our partner Morepour. The recording is real, the pictures are generated. The whole call, unedited, is further down.

The cost nobody budgets for

Every wasted visit is paid for twice.

Once in the van, the fuel and the engineer's time. Again in the job that engineer wasn't at. A typical UK maintenance call-out for general works costs £175 in the day and £255 out of hours, and plenty of them end with "the gas was off" or "it was the glass".

Visits that didn't need to happen

A cylinder turned off, a line not cleaned, a dirty glass. Each one checkable on the phone in minutes, each one a full call-out if nobody asks.

Peaks you can't staff for

Friday nights, match days and bank holidays bring the calls all at once. Nobody hires for the busiest hour of the year, so callers wait.

Faults don't keep office hours

The keg goes flat at nine on a Saturday. A landlord who can't pour loses the evening's takings, and remembers who answered.

Your numbers, not ours

What would fewer wasted visits be worth to you?

It starts from published industry figures. Change any of them to your own, and the result is your estimate, not a promise from us. A pilot measures the real figure on your own calls.

An example to start from. Put in your own.

Field service average 14%, about 1 visit in 7. Best performers 3%, the bottom fifth 24%.

Test these numbers with us

Start to finish, nothing cut. The caller is one of our team working from a prepared fault. The recording is real, the pictures are generated.

The whole call, unedited

He wanted an engineer today. Holly checked first.

Two drinks pouring flat, and a caller sure it was the gas mix. Holly held the line while he went to the cellar, insisted on a real test pour, and worked through every check. It was still flat, so she booked the technician.

Open and honest. Every word is as it happened. Like a good engineer on the phone, Holly sometimes takes a moment to think a fault through, so you'll hear the odd natural pause. Then she's straight back with the next check.

  1. Is the gas on to both lines?
  2. What mix does each cylinder say?
  3. Is the temperature normal?
  4. A fresh glass and a real test pour
  5. How long has the keg been on?
  6. Is the nozzle plate in place?
  7. Technician booked, with every check already done

One call. A different result for each desk.

Running the service
Fewer call-outs for faults that can be checked on the phone, and consistent questions on every call.
Finance
A visit avoided is cost removed from the operation, not deferred. Call volume can grow without headcount growing in step.
Engineering
When a visit is needed, the engineer already knows what was checked and found.
Safety and compliance
The planned design follows a signed rulebook. Every alarm alerts a person, only a person can cancel it, and each call is logged.
Your customers
Designed to answer at any hour, with no queue. A landlord walked through a fix can be pouring again tonight, not waiting for a van.

Hello Betony is the service. Holly is one of the team.

Holly is an AI voice, not a person. Who answers your line is part of setting it up, and that includes the choice of a male voice.

People stay in the loop. In the planned design, a person rings back whenever the safety rules call for one, and only a person can cancel an alarm. It is here to support your people, not replace them.

Where it stands today. Hello Betony is in structured pilot with our partner Morepour. Every call so far has been a test call from our own team, which is why we start with a demonstration.

Optional add-on

The engineer booked before the caller hangs up.

When a visit is needed, Holly can book it straight into the job system your team already uses. Nobody types it in again, nobody rings round, and the caller can be told when to expect someone.

  • The next free slot, with the right engineer for the fault
  • Every check already done, waiting on the job sheet
  • Works with most job and scheduling systems that can take bookings from other software. We check yours first, then set it up with you.

Founding partners

Start small, on your own line, and judge it on your own figures.

We're taking on a small number of founding partners. Nothing changes for your customers until you've seen the evidence.

  1. 1

    One line you choose

Out of hours, overflow at peak, or one region. Answered in your company's name, with your safety rules.

  2. 2

Measured for an agreed number of weeks

Calls answered, faults fixed on the phone, visits sent, repeat visits and the safety record, against your own figures from before.

  3. 3

    You decide on the evidence

If the numbers are there, we widen it together. If they aren't, you've lost nothing but a few weeks on one line.

For procurement

The questions your team will ask.

Does it answer in our name?

Yes. The films on this page show Holly answering as Morepour Technical Services, because that's who she was set up for. Who answers your line, and with which voice, is set with you.

Where does our call data go?

Before any pilot starts, we set out in writing every company that handles your call data, where it's processed and under which UK data protection terms. The company behind Hello Betony has been registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office since 2018.

What happens when something is unsafe?

The planned design follows a signed safety rulebook. A person rings back whenever the rules call for one, every alarm alerts a person, and only a person can cancel it.

How do jobs reach our engineers?

When a visit is needed, your team gets the job with every check already done and what was found. How it reaches them is agreed when we set up. As an add-on, Holly can book the visit straight into your own job system, if it can take bookings from other software.

Can we see what was said?

Every call is logged, so you can see what was asked, what the caller found and what happened next.

When does it answer?

It's designed to answer at any hour, with no queue, including the peaks you can't staff for.

What are we committing to?

A founding partner pilot on one line, for an agreed number of weeks, with the measures agreed up front. Terms for anything wider are agreed only once you've seen the results.

Hear it for yourself.

Pick a time. We call you in, you hear Holly take a test call, and we talk through your operation, your call volume and the faults you see most.
